From Analytics to Automated/Agentic Workflows
Description
This session examines how analytical processes can be organized into automated and agentic workflows that combine deterministic tools, analytical models, LLMs, and human judgment. Understanding these workflows is important because increasingly sophisticated systems can perform multiple stages of an analysis, making decisions about tool use, evidence collection, and escalation while still requiring appropriate human oversight.

Which parts of an investigation can be automated responsibly?
Review
The prior session required students to conduct an integrated financial investigation using multiple analytical methods and sources. This session treats that investigation as a workflow and asks which steps can be performed reliably by conventional automation or AI agents, and which require validation or human judgment.
