Description
This session examines data veracity, including the provenance, completeness, consistency, accuracy, and reliability of data used in an analysis. Assessing veracity is important because sophisticated analytical methods cannot produce reliable evidence when the underlying data or transformations are incomplete, inappropriate, or incorrect.

Screening demonstrated how relatively simple analytical choices can identify firms or observations for further investigation. This session asks a more fundamental question: before interpreting those signals, how do we establish that the underlying data, transformations, and resulting measures provide reliable evidence?
